Folks - contrary to popular belief, I am still in the land of the living. I've just been enduring the worst kind of computer problems known to man. The last few months the computer I had basically wasn't working (it was taking 15 minutes+ just to load up, what?!), and alas, what with life getting very busy with things and a complete lack of funds, I wasn't able to send it off to be fixed until the other week, whereupon it ended up (and this is a direct quote) "fried" when just trying to install some new RAM. Oh dear, oh dear.
So, as I still had no funds to speak of, I had to do some major research into what could be done next, and it turns out PC World do a lovely renting option so I have plumped for that, and with any luck my new laptop (a Macbook Air, whee!) costing only £40 a month will be with me next Thursday. It may yet still be a few weeks until I can get back to grips with everthing, but rest assured I shall do as soon as possible. Take care :)
Right, back to that big sweep I was doing last time. I didn't mean to leave it so long, last week just got really busy for some reason. Oh, talking of last week, I was down in Edinburgh to see Hollie Smith. Totally fabulous stuff, her voice is so gorgeous. Her music does, really, have that NZ vibe to it, made me want to go back so bad (must get saving!).
ETA: Ok, back again. (I had muesli, oatcakes & strawberry yoghurt if you must know). Jayson Norris (UK). [...argh, why is my computer freezing up on moi? Must reboot. Will be back. Again.]
ETA2: Third Time Lucky? Over The Atlantic (USA), Pitch Black (Australia, UK, Holland, Poland), Pumice (UK, Ireland, France, Germany, USA), The Rabble (UK). Right, that's it for today, just one last thing to leave you with...
Some Exciting Happenings (at least to me ;) Posted on 02 Apr 2008
Well, it's been pretty quiet around here on the gig front, although I've been like a little worker bee backstage bringing together lots of fun stuff for the site... all in good time though. ;)
So, lets see who's out on the road in the coming months... Flight of the Conchords (USA), Crowded House (USA, Canada, Spain), Midnight Youth (USA), Little Pictures (Australia), Die! Die! Die! (UK, USA, Canada), Cherry's Gemstones (Australia) omigod, I flipping lurve Cherry's Gemstones! So glad to see them making waves overseas, and that also goes for Charlie ASH (Australia)... with any luck the two of them will head over to the UK sometime. Seriously, if they were playing anywhere in Europe I would try and get down to see them lovethemsomuch!
Just a few dates seeping through for Minuit (UK), The Black Seeds (UK) and Scribe (UK)... no doubt they'll have more shows up their sleeves, I'm just waiting for them to be announced.
